Table
This table was inspired by mid-century modern furniture design. A simple construction allows the table to be disassembled and flat-packed for shipping.
Materials:
Walnut
Aluminum
After some initial sketches, I started to resolve the form of the table through refined Solidworks models and Keyshot renderings.
Next, a lasercut full-size model was constructed to fine tune the scale and size of the table pieces.
The legs are split into 5 pieces, which were hand sanded to fit together to create a single leg.
Using dowel-rods as registration markers and for extra structural integrity, the leg pieces were glued up, and slip joints were cut to allow the two legs to fit together.
A finish coat was applied to the table to give it it's final appearance, and an aluminum piece was bent and screwed into the bottom of the legs to add more structural stability and support.
